Cross estate planning off your to-do list.
If you're like most people, estate planning is one of those nagging items on your to-do list. Don't worry. It's easier than you think to get it done.
Step 1: Schedule an initial meeting.
You can view Maggie's schedule and make an appointment for your initial meeting from our website. If you don't want to use up a vacation day to come visit us in person, you're not alone. We understand. Feel free to schedule a phone conference instead.
Step 2: Prepare for your initial meeting by filling out our confidential client questionnaire.
Don't be intimidated. You'll need your address book, a few minutes to consider who of your family and friends are right for certain roles, and a big-picture understanding of your finances (think overall round numbers).
You can find our fillable PDF questionnaire by clicking here. Download it. Fill it out. And email it back to us at email@example.com. Keep in mind that you may need to update your PDF viewing software. Adobe Reader is free on the Adobe Acrobat website.
During your initial meeting Maggie will ask a variety of questions about your family, finances, and goals and make suggestions for the right estate plan for you.
Step 3: Meet with Maggie.
You can plan for a one hour meeting to discuss your planning options. As mentioned above, this meeting can be in person or by way of conference call. It is up to you.
Step 4: Review your drafts and schedule a signing appointment.
After your initial meeting, we will confirm the plan you have chosen and draft your documents. It typically takes about two weeks for us to prepare your documents and send drafts for your review. Once you've had a chance to review your drafts, contact Maggie with your questions and changes. She will finalize your documents and have them ready for you to sign. The final step (for you) is to schedule a signing appointment online or by emailing Maggie with some dates and times that work for you.
Step 5: Take a deep breath. You're done.
Relax. You did it. Once everything has been signed, we'll scan everything and return the original signed documents to you. We might even throw in a treat for a job well done.
